Wow! Feeling super sluggish this week. not sure what my problem is. We had 18 miles on Sunday to run, and the weather was fantastic. I was sore by the end, but felt over all pretty good. Did go home and take a nice nap though! Nothing wrong with that. Also had a nice carb full meal when we took mom out to eat for her bday at Jack and Mary's! Yummy Chicken and Noodles!
Good thing I was hydrating the whole Husker game the day before! i think that helped for sure.
This week has been mostly shortly runs and bike rides. This weekend just has a 3 hour ride and 10 mile run. We are camping in Des Moines for Mike Kellar's bday so i'm going to see if I can do my 10 miler the night before so I only have 7 miles on Sunday :)
Last night was a bit of a tough ride for me, just into the wind part of the time and it felt like my legs were super tired. It was great when we had the tail wind though! We did 2 hours on the bike so about 31 miles and then ran 2. We kept a pretty good pace of about 9:30 for the run, not bad :)
I keep telling myself the run on the ironman is just going to be whatever its going to be. I'm trying not to worry about cut off times and just telling myself I got this! I keep thinking about Brad's advice of "don't work hard when you don't have to" That to me means when the wind is carrying you, don't burn your legs out, use it to push you along, then work hard when you have to go into the wind.
Just have to keep the positivity up as we go into all this long stuff when its getting dark earlier and its going to get cold out there! Mind and Body in the game!!
